GTA 6's Cover Art Is Finally Here — And Pre-Orders Are Days Away

Rockstar just gave fans something they’ve been waiting years for: the official box art for Grand Theft Auto 6. It arrived not in a blog post or a leak, but in a slick 30-second trailer — and tucked into the final seconds was a second piece of news that matters just as much: a pre-order date.

The Art Itself

True to GTA tradition, the cover leans on Rockstar’s signature collage style — a grid of small character vignettes wrapped around a central image, the same formula that defined the GTA 5 box art. Front and center are dual leads Jason and Lucia, framed by the visual language of Vice City: palm trees, guns, and a couple of Florida wildlife cameos in the form of a flamingo and an alligator.

The color story is what sells it. A wash of pink and purple gives the whole design a sun-faded, neon-soaked feel — equal parts throwback to Vice City’s 1980s roots and a clean, modern finish. It’s not a reinvention of the GTA cover formula, but it doesn’t need to be; it nails the tone the series is known for.

Pre-Orders Start June 25

The bigger practical news is buried at the end of the trailer: pre-orders open June 25, 2026, across digital storefronts and select retailers. Pricing hasn’t been announced — that detail will presumably land alongside the pre-order page itself next week.

Why Now

The timing tracks with what Take-Two has been signaling for months. CEO Strauss Zelnick recently reaffirmed the game’s November 19, 2026 release date, framing the long wait as the cost of Rockstar building something unprecedented. He’d also told CNBC earlier this year that Take-Two holds off on marketing spend until close to launch — and that “marketing beats” were coming this summer.

The cover reveal looks like the opening move of that campaign. With five months left until release, expect this to be the first of several drops — gameplay trailers, marketing pushes, and pricing details — as Rockstar ramps up toward November.

Bottom line: GTA 6 now has its box art, pre-orders open June 25, and the game still ships November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
